Registering a Location

The Film Office receives around 5000 enquiries for locations each year: recently we upgraded our database to make it

• easier for location managers to find the right location

• more secure for property owners: the database is password protected and only accessible to accredited personnel

Production companies will pay for the use of a location so allowing your property to be used for filming can be a lucrative as well as an interesting experience.

If you wish to register your property on our database this couldn’t be easier: either

• fill out the on-line form and send it to us (by post or e-mail) with pictures of the areas that are available for filming ( it is also useful to include other shots that show where the property is situated )

• or contact our data manager who will assist you in registration.

If a location manager were interested in your property we would phone you - before anyone from the production would visit you - to discuss the project. With over 25 years in the business we understand the complexities of filming and will help you avoid obvious problems.

Inclusion on the database is free. If a production company uses your property as a result of finding it on the database we charge a commission on the location fee earned.

There are two levels of commission:

• 5% for inclusion on the data base to cover administration costs or

• 15% for full management; the Film Office will handle fee negotiation, licencing checking insurance, access, invoicing and fee collection. The Film Office has a lot of experience of dealing with production companies, we know who the cowboys are and our filming licence is used by many other boroughs engaged in this field. We can negotiate the market rate for your property given the type of production, hours of occupation etc. In addition to the above the Film Office can handle any site visits and monitor the production during the shoot.
