Location Charges
LOCATION FEES: A guide for Production Companies
Ultimately the fee is at the discretion of the Film Office but
the following is a reasonable guide:
Film Units are graded into the following categories:
A = Major feature film for commercial release or major
TV drama, commercials (i.e. more than ten vehicles/30 crew)
B = TV drama (i.e. Casualty) Pop promos (i.e.up to ten
vehicles/30 crew)
C = Children’s drama, dramatised documentaries (more
than three vehicles/ more than ten crew)
D = Docs, Photographic (3 vehicles or less, ten crew or
less)
Students are usually done at cost
The following charges are the minimum that the above types of
unit will be expected to pay for a location in the boroughs we represent
net of costs. i.e. the fee will be higher on unique locations where
arrangements to allow filming are particularly difficult.

Hourly rates by arrangement. Minimum charge £60.
N.B. A DAY IS 12 HOURS ACCESS i.e. 10 hours shooting, one hours
prep and one hours de-rig. Overtime unless previously arranged is
charged at the pro-rata hourly rate plus 50%.
Prep and de-rig days are charged at 50% of the agreed shooting
day fee.
Location fees are zero-rated for VAT
